First, I want to say thank you so very much for giving me the opportunity to be part of this scholarship. I have struggled with learning disabilities since I was little. I appreciate this scholarship because it recognizes my efforts to become a better learner. I understand that I learn differently and sometimes I have to read things multiple times compared to other students. It’s frustrating, but I’ve learned that my successes mean the world to me. It’s not always been about a particular grade. It’s been about whether that grade reflects my efforts. I am so excited to be heading off this fall to the University of New Hampshire to study marine biology, which is what I’ve loved since I was five years old. Thank you so much for this recognition of my academic achievements.
