I am honored and thankful to be a recipient of this scholarship. I so appreciate that the Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation offers scholarships and supports students with dyslexia. Through the process of applying for and receiving this scholarship, I have reflected on and appreciated the skill it takes for me and others with dyslexia to succeed academically. I am relieved by the financial assistance this scholarship provides me as I continue in my nursing program. This scholarship has affected me personally in my view of my intelligence and dyslexia. Sometimes it can be easier to be kind to others than ourselves. I hope that children with dyslexia can more often get the support they need to see their talents and thrive. As a nurse, I will do my best to advocate for and support differently-abled people including people with dyslexia.
