I’m very grateful to be able to receive this award. The Joseph James Morelli Scholarship will help me pursue a career in engineering. I share some similarities in life with Joseph. I wasn’t diagnosed with dyslexia until I had graduated 8th grade, and my mom also had to have me tested outside the school district, as well as push for me to get the help I needed in school. I’m also a self-taught guitarist and playing soccer has be constantly outdoors too. Seeing how well he was able to do in college is inspiring. My family’s financial situation is a bit challenging and so receiving the scholarship will help me feel even better about my chances of success.
