Beano Solomon

For 50 years, Beano Solomon taught at a school that recognized that children with dyslexia needed to be taught differently. She has family members with dyslexia and is a big supporter of the research of Dr. April Benasich, who is working on early intervention techniques. She also has two little friends in the Park City School District who need a great deal of extra support. It is with great pleasure that she supports the mission of the Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation to help other children with learning differences.

Blame it on Gutenberg

We are honored to be able to sponsor the documentary Blame It On Gutenberg, a powerful film about the evolving science of dyslexia, dueling theories of how to teach reading, and one family’s landmark struggle with an unresponsive school system. The film features numerous individuals whose experience and expertise they generously shared.

Blame It On Gutenberg is a non-profit project that is relying on viewer and sponsor support to help defray the cost of producing the film. All donations are tax-deductible through the 501-c3 oversight of the Filmmakers Collaborative and will help to move the film to wider distribution for greater impact on our students’ lives.

You may watch the entire one-hour documentary for free. We encourage you to share this important film with everyone who is a stakeholder in education and literacy outcomes for all students

We Need Your Support on November 3, 2023

To date we have awarded over 330 scholarships, totaling more than $550,000. Your gift is helping these young adults receive much needed tutoring, testing, accommodations, resources and tuition support, which can make the difference between success and failure. But more than the financial support, your generous support builds students’ self-esteem and confidence, as well as restores the dream of being worthy and deserving of an education.

We would like to thank Promontory Foundation for their generous matching grant donation!  Please help us reach our goal of $40,000 so that we may continue to change lives!
